About Me

 A brief autobiography: I was born and raised in Chicago IL. My parents immigrated from Argentina, where all our relatives live. My father was a psychiatrist and when I was a child he would occasionally take me to Wesley Memorial Hospital, where he worked, and I (for some reason) loved the hospital. He also would share and teach me things about how the body functions...I was very intrigued! After high school, I actually worked in kitchens and eventually got a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY. This is where I met my husband/soul mate (we've been together for 30+ years). We cooked in Boston, Cape Cod, and then moved to Colorado in 1995. I continued cooking (really I was a pastry chef and baker) for several more years and even owned (my husband and I) and operated a very successful Bakery in the small town of Mancos, Co. 

In the year 2008, I began to pursue nursing. I became an RN in 2013 and went on to work mostly in the hospital as a floor nurse. People who knew me were surprised that I went into a Western medicine field because my health practices had, and still are, much more intuitive, and definitely off the beaten track. Still, I went into nursing because I felt driven to know what exactly was going on in the Western medical model that the majority of people use. After 7+ years as a floor nurse, I felt like I had a pretty good understanding of what was going on. 

I earned a Master's degree in nursing so I could practice with more autonomy and became licensed as an FNP in 2022. For my first year as an NP, I decided to move closer to a healthcare model I could align with. I worked alongside an amazing Naturopathic Doctor in a small clinic. In addition to taking Functional medicine courses, the ND taught me a great deal about functional medicine testing, herbal remedies, and supplementation methods.
